I think the kind of landscape that you grew up in, it lives with you. I don't think it's true of people who've grown up in cities so much; you may love a building, but I don't think that you can love it in the way that you love a tree or a river or the colour of the earth; it's a different kind of love.    - By Arundhati Roy

Now there won’t be a single person who has visited Rajasthan and not heard the story of the famous HALDI GHATI battle fought between the mighty army of the Mughal Emperor AKBAR-the great and the one and only Rajput Idol Maharana Pratap decades ago.

The Haldi Ghati is basically a battle ground and gets its name from the yellow sandstone present there in the soil which gives it a turmeric (haldi in hindi) like shade. Also a few people believe that the soil turned into this colour due to the battle and massive bloodshed.

Haldi Ghati apart from having a scenic beauty, also has historic significance and is preserved as a World Heritage Sight and is very well constructed with literally all the narrations and depictions of the mighty war.

Water always adds to the beauty of a scenery be it a water resource within the city like Lake Pichola in Udaipur or be it the grand and enormous LAKE JAISAMAND located at a feasible distance from the city of Udaipur.

When built, it was the world’s largest man-made lake thus creating an impact of a Father on the other lakes of the world which makes it a must-see for those who are hydrophilic and love historical influence as well.

The Jaisamand Lake has six bizarre cenotaphs and a Shiva temple in the centre. The northern end of the lake has a palace with a patio while its southern end has a marquee of 12 pillars.
