MAHAKALESHWAR TEMPLE –
This
prodigious temple is spread across a vast piece of land; the construction
process of the temple is still in process under the Shri Mahakaleshwar Mandir
Nirman Sahyog Mandal, this trust includes members exceeding 5500. The evening
Aarti begins at 6:30 pm, it is the time when all the ‘Shiv Bhakts’ assemble to
engage in the mass worshipping of Lord Shiva (Mahakaal). Lying on the banks of
Lake Fatehsagar, opposite Panna Vilas, the splendid Mahakaleshwar temple has
the lofty Aravalis in the background. It is believed that Guru Gorakhnath, a
popular saint and a distinguished devotee of Lord Shiva had also worshipped
here. The temple stretches in an area of around 3.5 acres. The temple is
visited by a crazy number of devotees of Lord Shiva every year. Rudrabhishesk
Aarti is the highlight here.

2 JAGDISH
TEMPLE –
This temple
can be titled as one of the most worshiped temples in Udaipur as it is situated
in the heart of the city; an idol of Lord Vishnu is worshiped here since 1651,
when the temple was built. Twice in a year, a huge procession is conducted
named ‘Jagannath Yatra’, the idol of Lord Vishnu is placed carried a chariot
and is proceeded across the city, thousands of devotees bow to the Lord and
participate in procession with various ‘Jhankis’. Jagdish Temple is a large
Hindu temple in the middle of Udaipur in Rajasthan, just outside the royal
palace. It has been in continuous worship since 1651. A big tourist attraction,
the temple was originally called the temple of Jagannath Rai but is now called
Jagdish-ji. It is a major monument in Udaipur. It attaches a double-storey
Mandapa (hall) to a double-storey saandhara (with a covered ambulatory)
sanctum.

3 BOHRA
GANESH JI TEMPLE –
It is said
that this vintage temple is 350 years old; an idol of Lord Ganesha is worshiped
in the premises. It is believed that around 80 years ago, the worshipers
seeking monetary help, used to leave a piece of paper mentioning their problems
before of the idol and Lord Ganesha would shower his blessings upon them by
eliminating all their troubles. As Wednesday is said to be Lord Ganesha’s day,
one must visit the temple between 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Bohra Ganesh Temple is a
very old and famous temple of Lord Ganesh, situated near Mohanlal Sukhadia
University in Udaipur. Having a standing statue of Lord Ganesh at the center,
this temple is visited by thousands of devotees every week. The Bohra Ganesh
Temple is located on the Bohra Ganesh Road, near the Govt. Ahad Museum near
Dhoolkot area in Udaipur. At the center of this temple, there is an east facing
idol of the Lord is in a dancing posture.

4 NEEMACH
MATA TEMPLE –
Neemach Mata
Temple is located on a hill on the banks of the Fateh Sagar Lake in the city of
Udaipur, Rajasthan. This temple is located on a green hill in the Dewali area
of Udaipur. It has both stairs and uphill slope walk way to climb, which is
around 900 metres long. It enshrines the stone idol of Neemach Mata Devi. There
is also an idol of Lord Ganesh and three west-facing lions of stone. The most
exciting thing about this temple is that it is situated on top of a hill which
is 900 meters above the sea level. In order to reach the shrine, one has to
climb numerous stairs, the temple is dedicated to the Goddess Amba ji, and it
is also called as ‘Udaipur ki Vaishno Devi’ as one has to climb heights to
enter the cordial environment. From the temple you can easily capture the view
of the entire city adding the allure to the Goddess!

5 AMBA MATA
TEMPLE –
It is
believed that Maharana Raj Singh (1652-1680) suffered from severe eye trouble,
and even efforts made by Raj Vaidya could not cure him. He was then advised to
visit the Ambika Mata temple in the Arbudancha hills of Gujarat. But before
starting the journey, the Maharana saw the Goddess in his dream and was told
that he need not make the journey as the Goddess herself was coming to Mewar.
Based on the instructions provided in dreams, the Maharana and his courtiers
started digging at a place where they found an idol of goddess Ambamata.
Immediately on the extraction of the idol from the ground, Maharana was also
fully cured from his ailment. Maharana started construction of a temple at the
same location. The temple was completed in Vikram Samvat 1721.
