5 BEST PLACES TO HANGOUT IN UDAIPUR
Sometimes a game comes at
just the right moment in your life. 'Flower' is beautiful, serene, and a bit of
sunshine in a gloomy world. I remember going through a rough spot in my life
and turning on 'Flower' for a little break in the day. You fly through luscious
landscapes collecting petals and painting the world with life. -

Now this quote is especially
dedicated for what according to facts is the world’s third most beautiful city
in the world, the city of lakes- Udaipur. Also known as “THE VENICE OF THE
EASTâ€, Udaipur city is one of the most beautiful and serene in terms of natural
landscapic beauty which needs no introduction or definition but you surely will
end up admiring the picturesque landscape of the city.
The city offers a lot not
just to the visitors from outside, but also serves the purpose for the locals
who have seen almost all the prominent locations and are just looking forward
to spending some time with their company while sipping coffee and want to just
kind of hangout at a peaceful spot while looking and praising the beauty of the
city. Taking out time from a tied-up schedule is really difficult for many
people now-a-days so all they can ever need is to fidg a few places where they
can just sit and relax peacefully while soaking themselves in the scintillating
beauty of their own beautiful city. So here are a few of my favourite hangout
places in Udaipur which are free of cost and can definitely provide you with
the peace and relaxation you are looking for.
1 – FATEHSAGAR LAKE,
UDAIPUR.
Now there won’t be a single
person in the city who would not have heard of this beautiful,
centrally-located lake in Udaipur – THE FATEHSAGAR LAKE. Fatehsagar lake in
Udaipur is not just a landmark but has now been considered as a full-fledged
address in the geography of Udaipur city. Highly liked by the locals, this lake
in Udaipur is one of those lakes which has all the kinds of hotels and resorts
placed around it like The Lalit, Panna Vilas, Radisson-Blu, Inder-Prakash and
many more only because of its serene and beautiful setting. The Fatehsagar Lake
is stretched in whopping 54 km2 area having a depth of almost 18 ft.
And beautifully decorated with 3 small islands placed at far away locations
from each other within the lake. First is the Nehru Park is the largest of them
and is widely praised for its eye-catching landscape, second is an Observatory
which is an ideal location for watching eclipses if and when they occur,
however it is not open for common public but is surely something worth watching
from the lakeshore. But apart from all these, the best feature about the
Fatehsagar Lake in Udaipur is that it has plenty of space for people to sit and
relax and even if you are a morning person and love taking a stroll in the
morning first thing after you wake up, what can be better than taking a stroll
by the lakeside dipping in the natural beauty of the area while concentrating
on your health? Well, personally, all the areas surrounding fatehsagar lake are
as peaceful and as serene as is the lake itself. If you are longing to watch a
peaceful and colourful sunset at the end of a tiresome day, Fatehsagar lake in
Udaipur is the right place for you, if you are alone and feel like having a
company, come to this place and indulge in the beauty of the nature and you
would never feel isolated again. Soaking in the breathtaking beauty of this
lake, you can give away all your stress and tensions a break and just enjoy the
scenic beauty by taking a sip of coffee while looking at the calm and peaceful
lake and listening to the chirruping of birds while the sprinklers in the lake
sprinkle tiny droplets of water on you giving you a feel of heaven on Earth.
2 – RANI ROAD, UDAIPUR
Rani Road in Udaipur is
also one of the favourite hangout places for me as well as for most of the
locals of the city. Widely stretched alongside the length of the gigantic
Fatehsagar Lake, Rani Road in Udaipur serves a two-way purpose of making a
connecting link between Ambamata and Fatehsagar and also one of the people’s
favourite hangout spot in all the four seasons of the year. Rani Road is one of
those places which are never found empty and there is always someone or the
other sitting alongside the lake both peacefully enjoying the beauty of the
Fatehsagar Lake or hanging out with their company and having fun. There are
more compelling and more transcendent landscapes - to me. But what appeals to
me about Rani Road in Udaipur is that the permutation of landscape and utility
is the most compelling I've seen on this earth. Small mountain ranges and open
lake, and different weather, different light, all within a 360-degree view is
something worth praising. Rani Road in Udaipur is one such landscape which
inbounds the hills on one side and a vast open mesmerizing lake on the other.
The local crowd of Udaipur indulges in the scintillating beauty of Rani Road even
while just crossing from here and this is the reason why it has become of the
favourite places for the people to hangout now-a-days. Rani Road in Udaipur is
also a hub of art and architectural structures as there are several unique
marble and stone made pieces of art especially designed by a French Architect
for the purpose of enhancing the beauty of the road and making it unique stuff
for all the passersby. There are approximately 10-11 such structures each
having a different meaning which is known to a very few people who have the
ability to understand such pieces of art. Rani Road also gleams itself up at
night when all these structures are lighted-up with colourful lights making it
look like a paradise.
3 – SAJJANGARH BIOLOGICAL
PARK
Sajjangarh Biological Park
in Udaipur is the largest biodiversity park of the city inhabiting wide species
of fauna for those who are wildlife lovers and would always love to spend time
with wild animals on a bright sunny day along with family or friends. Open for
all at a very negligible ticket, Sajjangarh Biological Park in Udaipur inhabits
approximately 60 animals of 21 species including tigers, panthers, lions,
ostriches, alligators, rhesus monkeys, bears, tortoises, cats and many more. Just
within two months of its inauguration, the Sajjangarh Biological Park in
Udaipur had received more than 46,000 visitors in a month, generating income of
Rs 14 lakh for the forest department, which is a record that speaks for itself
is an evident of how mesmerizing and exciting place it is to hangout with your
friends and family. And as it is very well said, “If you can reach out and
touch and love and be with wildlife, you will forever be changed, and you will
want to make the world a better place.†This quote stands 100% true in case of
this widely spread Wildlife Park which hosts and takes care of many species of
wild animals and giving public the pleasure of watching all these animals live in
their wild habitat. Spread widely in a whopping 36 hectare of area, Sajjangarh
Biological Park is a hub for all those who love wildlife and would love to
indulge in wildlife along with natural beauty alongside. Sajjangarh Biological
Park is located just beneath the famous Monsoon Palace or Sajjangarh Palace and
that is how it get its name. Sajjangarh Biological Park also has a few shops
inside the premises from where you can buy something to nibble while taking a
walk through the park and watching the animals but you just have to make sure
that you do not feed anything to them while walking through. Also golf cars are
available at your services at a very nominal charge just so that if you do not
want to walk all the way through, you can just sit back and relax peacefully
and admire the natural beauty of the place and if you are a health and fitness
enthusiast, Sajjangarh Biological Park gives you a way through cycling to get
to animals and indulge the nature’s beauty by all means. Sajjangarh Biological
Park will undoubtedly remain on the list of my favourite places to hangout at.
4 – AMBRAI GHAT, UDAIPUR
Ambrai Ghat in Udaipur is
located in one of the finest cultural hubs of the city i.e. chandpole area most
commonly known for its cultural diversity as this area is closest to the
Rajasthani culture in Udaipur. Ambrai ghat displays the marvels of Udaipur in
the best possible way which makes it one of the favourite places for the locals
to hangout at. Now first things first, talking about the picturesque view and
panoramic landscape of Ambrai Ghat. Ambrai Ghat in Udaipur is located on the
bank of the majestic Pichola Lake which itself speaks for its grandeur. The
view of the nearby areas of Ambrai Ghat from both the ends is quite mesmerizing
as on one of its end stands the grand and majestic City Palace Fort – the king’s
abode, which when lightened up at night looks nothing less than a paradise in
front of your eyes along with the sound of waves of the lake which serve as the
music to the ears. And on the other end is a queue of world’s best properties
like The Leela Palace, Taj Lake Palace, Jagmandir etc which adds up to the
beauty of the are of Ambrai Ghat. Moving on from the beauty of Ambrai Ghat and
its surrounding which is quite a task, we next have the fact that Ambrai Ghat
is not the only place alongside the bank of lake Pichola but we also have few
other ghats like Ghangor Ghat, Hanuman Ghat, Lal Ghat etc which are all nearby
Ambrai Ghat just at different angles of the lakewhich are equally beautiful and
serene as the Ambrai Ghat. At long last, we have the third most important
factor which makes Ambrai Ghat one of the favourite hangout places is the
number of multi-cuisine restaurants present in the nearby areas. All the finger
licking good tasting restaurants within an affordable price quotient are
located nearby Ambrai Ghat just to make sure that you do not miss anything when
you visit here.
5 – DUDHTALAI GARDEN,
UDAIPUR
Dudh Talai Garden in
Udaipur is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the city as it provides the
best landscapic scenarios. As it is very well said, “Our landscapes connect us
to our history; they are the source of our character as a peopl, as well as our
health, our safety, and our prosperity. Natural resources enrich us
economically, yes. But they also enrich us aesthetically and recreationally and
culturally and spiritually.†Dudh Talai in Udaipur is actually a connect
between your optical senses and spiritual inner self. The scintillating view of
water shining in the setting sun like a pearl upon the ocean is so breathtaking
that you would never even feel like going away from that kind of a view and
would totally indulge in its beauty and calmness. Another important factor that
make Dudh Talaia clear hangout spot in Udaipur is the adventurous ropeway
activity. The cost for ropeway is so nominal that you can do it more thjan once
if you feel like while looking down at the luscious green valley from the sky
till you reach the Karni Mata Temple which is on the other end of the ropeway and
is such a place where even an atheist bows down admiring the beauty and
creativity of the almighty. Dudh Talai in Udaipur is also a spot for those who
are hydrophilic and would love to take a dip in the pure blues of the lake the
first thing in the morning. Dudh Talai should certainly be on your list if you
are looking for a place to hangout at in Udaipur.
